Congresswoman Gloria Arroyo’s spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn and Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda faced off on State of the Nation last night. In a head-to-head live interview, the two presented opposing views on the issue of CGMA’s request to travel abroad for a medical treatment.
Bautista-Horn appeared first interviewed by anchor Jessica Soho. She said that CGMA will assert her right to travel to seek for a treatment on her medical condition. Soho later had Lacierda, who said that the Arroyo couple will still be barred from traveling abroad even with Supreme Court's decision to issue a temporary restraining order.
The face-off offered an interesting discussion on CGMA's medical condition and Soho displayed fairness, getting both sides of two opposing views. It was also interesting to see a nightly newscast using a three-split screen graphics for this kind of rare face-off.
